This traditional stone and slate cottage has been converted from two cottages to make a spacious and comfortable holiday home. It has been recently renovated to a very high standard and has attractive and colourful furnishings and a four-poster. It would be ideal either for one couple having a romantic break or for four people as there is plenty of room but it is cosy. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. It is just off a quiet road with views east and west across fields and hills and south to Schiehallion. This attractive farmhouse is prettily furnished and perfect for a couple or for a family. It stands in seclusion among meadows at the foot of Ben-a-Chuallaich and has wonderful panoramic views south across the glen to Schiehallion (1083 m). The garden is enclosed and roses are trained up the walls of the courtyard at the back. The house is spacious and the sitting room has a pretty fireplace, wall lights and comfortable sofa and chairs. This charming cottage has a garden filled with trees and shrubs. The sitting room has sofa and easy chairs surrounding an open fire. The kitchen/dining has a Raeburn cooker, in addition to the electric cooker, which make it very cosy, especially for breaks in winter. Roses and honeysuckle climb the walls. You can take lovely walks through the birch woods and fields behind the cottage to a pretty burn or walk down to Dunalastair Loch from the house, a 15 minute stroll. Bridge Cottage, one of our nine cottages, is full of character and is situated in a very peaceful, secluded position beside the River Tummel. It was formerly the turbine house which produced electric light for the old mansion house in the early 20th century. It has superb views west up Dunalastair Loch to the Glencoe hills and lies 1/4 mile down a private road. Parking is adjacent to the cottage and you can go walking straight from the cottage. This cosy cottage, one of nine spread around Dunalastair, used to be the estate's post office in days gone by. It looks across Dunalastair Loch where there interesting wildlife, such as wild duck, osprey, otters and whooper swans. There are beautiful wild flowers down by the loch in spring and summer and the cottage has an enclosed garden with clematis, roses and a mass of daffodils amongst the birches in spring. The sitting room has dramatic views south and west towards Schiehallion (1083m), Dunalastair Loch and Ben-a-Chuallaich. This unique Scottish Baronial style Victorian house was built by the present owner's great-grandfather as the gate lodge of Dunalastair House, before the Hydro Electric scheme raised the water level and submerged the drive in the 1930s. Attached to the impressive gateway (the drive is no longer in use), this truly exceptional holiday house is set in woodland beside a most attractive boulder-strewn stretch of the River Tummel where you can fish for trout.
