Scandinavian style 3-bedroomed chalet, comprising one twin upstairs, one double & one bunksroom and bathroom downstairs. Fully equipped with TV, shower, microwave, etc. Sleeps 6 + cot. Situated on a tree-lined holiday park, with swimming pool, tennis court, crazy golf, volleyball, children’s play area, clubroom/bar, restaurant, shop & launderette. Near beach for fishing and watersports (where there is a pub right on the beach for the watching thereof !) Take beautiful walks along the cliffs in both directions: one way towards Dover, past Kingsdown Golf Course and via the picturesque St. Margarets Bay; and the other way towards Deal, past Kingsdown Church and via Walmer Castle where the Queen Mother often stayed in her role as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, almost right up to the time of her death. In Deal you will find another Tudor Castle, complete with cannons and dungeons, both built by King Henry VIII. Deal has many antique shops & quaint fishermen’s cottages, some of which can be viewed from the end of the pier, where you can enjoy a drink or meal. You can do the same in Dover and also visit the Museum to view a Bronze Age boat recently excavated under a seafront road. Also, exploring Dover’s Norman Castle almost needs a whole day! Sandy beaches can be found at Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate. Canterbury & Folkestone are great for shopping, with local markets at Deal on Saturday, Sandwich on Thursdays and Folkestone on Sundays. John Aspinall’s zoo parks are popular: one near Canterbury, the other near Hythe, where you can also enjoy a trip on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Miniature Railway. France is easy by ferry from Dover or Folkestone or via the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone. Roman remains can be found at Richborough, near Sandwich, which is also very quaint and recently hosted the Open Golf Championships. The chalet is situated in a landscaped park located in the grounds of the old manor house in the village of Kingsdown, near Deal in Kent. The sloping wooded hillside of the park overlooks the sea from the northern end of the White Cliffs of Dover.
Constructed from timber in Scandinavian style, the accommodation is on two floors with a galleried landing overlooking the lounge area. Double glass doors lead out onto a veranda. Garden furniture and a barbeque are provided. There are three bedrooms, a small double and a bunk-room downstairs and a large twin room upstairs.
The Park facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, tennis court, crazy golf, children’s play area, Channel look-out point, games room, bar and restaurant.
There are bracing walks along the beach path to Walmer and Deal and on the White Cliffs to St. Margaret’s Bay and Dover. Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club and riding stables are close by and there is a leisure pool with water flumes in Deal.

The Barn was converted in 2001 to provide accommodation of the highest standard. It has been awarded 5 stars by the English Tourism Council. The Barn forms part of a former farm and is situated 15 miles due south of the City of London. Frequent trains take from as little as 20 minutes to reach central London, which makes the Barn an ideal place from which to explore the city as well as the countryside.
The original oak frame of the Barn has been retained, and there are oak floors and joinery throughout. There are two lounges with large windows overlooking the open fields and woodlands. Six people can be accommodated in three bedrooms. There is full central heating, and a soft water supply. All linen is provided. There are two televisions, a video, CD Player, DVD player, radio and payphone. .
There are two bathrooms, with powerful showers and a full size bath. The private patio has a gas barbeque.
